Lumbini Garden is located on the banks of Nagawara Lake near Hebbal in Bangalore. Spread over the area 1.5 kms it is one of the entertainment park which offers water activities ,boating- both pedal boat and motor boat and some rides for kids.It is good for spending couple of hour with your family.
When you enter the main entrance from a tomb like structure in the centre you see the statue of Film actor Rajkumar, to the left side are few eatery shops like Southern Spice, Cafe Coffee Day and a floating restaurant. Beautiful pathway is developed along the lake side with canopy, sitting arrangement and shade where you can relish the food or just a hot cuppa 🙂 Note – Do not carry your food, as outside food is not permissible inside the garden. We planned for a picnic in the garden so prepared some stuff but we have to leave it outside in the lockers 🙁
Right side of the entrance you see few rides for children which include buggy jumping , Columbus, dragon ride, vortex, Spanish bull ride etc and after this you see an artificial beach which is nothing but the wave pool and few water rides. I personally feel this place lacks maintenance especially the cleanliness of water.
The main attraction is boating here. We opted for motor boat which they also called Coffee boating don’t know why! There was no trace of coffee 🙂 We choose to take the corner seat to enjoy the view. It was 15 minutes ride and I must say it is the only thing which was good here. By the time we completed the ride it was 7 pm and we started back to home.
It was a good experience to enjoy boating after a long time here in Bangalore and spend some decent time with family.I feel it could be maintained a bit more for its neatness, safety precautions around lake and more exciting rides for kids.
