Before I say goodbye to Mango season here is my take on Raw Mango and Garlic Chutney with dash of spices… Tangy and spicy ingredients give perfect taste to this simple yet lip-smacking chutney. Inspired from one of the awesome blog the secret ingredient. Seeing the pictures in her blog I just can’t stop and wanted to give it a try. To add some spicy flavors added star anise, fennel seeds and cinnamon.

 This tangy and spicy chutney goes well with toast, nachos. I had it with bhakri and loved it !! Try out and let me know how it turned out for you.

Yes this is the season when we make different variety of mango pickles, mango chutney etc. Here is the mango pickle recipe passed down by my grandmother and my mom still continues to make in the same process…yummy delicious mango pickle. Instant Aam Ka Choonda / Gujarati Style Sweet Mango Pickle

 

I recall some of my favorite mango pickles I grew up eating. Being gujrati pickles and chutneys are something we have it everyday and in different varieties. My paternal grandmother is known to have variety of pickle recipes in her prime! These include classics like Chundo, a hot and sweet grated raw mango pickle with the consistency of marmalade, thick and chunky with shreds of mango, spicy mango cubes. Murrabbo and gorkeri are my other favorites. My grandmother’s instant version of Chundo was the best I had ever tasted. That Divine taste of saffron takes me back to my childhood days….

Usually we have a north Indian breakfast like poha, upma, theplas etc every morning but when I have to make idlis or dosas it should definitely have coconut chutney ….Here is an easy peasy chutney recipe that goes well with soft idlis and crisp dosas and vadas.It contains gram dal, fresh coriander and small amount of curd too (if you don’t have curd you can add fresh lemon juice).
