The best part about smoothies is, its simple to make and you can blend in all the goodness in a single serving !!This apple pie smoothie is incredible and bursting with health benefits. It’s been my daily breakfast smoothie of the moment for the last few weeks and it’s just like eating apple pie for breakfast!
Loaded with so many vitamins, minerals and all those good things, this apple pie smoothie will make you happy. And I promise you can’t even taste the spinach!My green of choice for green smoothies will always be baby spinach. The beauty of spinach lies in how easy it is to disguise the taste. It’s mild tasting yet packed with vitamins, has anti-cancerous properties, and is one of the healthiest foods.For extra energy and fiber, I add some rolled oats to the blend and plenty of warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg.
The touch of sweetness from the honey which cuts the bitterness of spinach leaving a light and refreshing flavor that’s easy to drink. If you want something a little sweeter to share with your children, you can try adding a half of banana.
I don’t always enjoy eating apples on their own, but mix apple with a bit of cinnamon and some other great ingredients and I can’t get enough. Its said an apple a day keeps a doctor away. It’s so true ! This cute lill apple has so many health benefits so why not include it in your meal plans in an interesting way? I feel, a great way to get kids drinking green smoothies too is to start off with a great taste like this.

So what are you waiting for gather the ingredients from your pantry and create this apple pie in a glass !
Preparation Time – 5 minutes
Cooking Time – 5 minutes
Serves – 2
2 – Green Apple, cored and sliced
1/2 Cup – Spinach
1/2 – Banana, peeled and frozen
1/2 Cup – Rolled Oats or Quick Cooking Oats
1 Cup – Greek Yogurt, natural
1 Teaspoon – Flax Meal
1/2 Teaspoon – Cinnamon, freshly ground
1/4 Teaspoon – Nutmeg Powder
1 Tablespoon – Honey or Agave
1/2 Cup – Crushed Ice
How to go about it –
- Place all the ingredients in the high speed blender and puree until smooth and creamy.
- Add ice depending on the temperature preference.
- Add honey to taste, if desired.
- Pour in the glasses and serve this delicious green apple pie in a glass !
- When layering a green smoothie recipe for blending, start with the lighter ingredients first (like yogurt and greens) and the heavier ingredients on top (like fruit, bananas and ice if using). It helps make blending easy!
- Frozen bananas work best in smoothies. Peel, slice in half, and place in a large ziplock bag in the freezer overnight.
