We Bengalureans look forward to the months of January and August when Lalbagh is at its best. These are also the months when the famed “Lalbagh Flower Show” is held.
The 208th Lalbagh Flower Show has started in the garden city to commemorate the 72nd Independence Day. This year the flower show is dedicated to the Indian Armed Forces. A model of the Amar Jawan Jyoti, the war memorial at India Gate in Delhi and the Siachen region are the highlight of the show.

The flower show is also paying homage to the Kannada film Industry by installing– a 45 feet film reel and a camera made of roses. It also has floral replicas of the awards trophy.

On the other side the attractions include a huge lion made of flowers, butterflies etc. It also houses models of ISRO Satellite Launch Vehicle, missiles and 25 feet vertical garden.

When you walk out of the glass house you can see floral peacock, tank made of jute and some floral baskets and hanging plants. All around the botanical garden you can see some wood carvings, plants, vegetable and fruit shops.It is also a great time to stock up for your garden. Besides saplings, garden accessories, seeds, manure and other essentials are on sale. You can visit HOPCOM shops and organic market just outside the main gate of Lalbagh.

Military bands from BSF are expected to play during the weekend at Band Stand within Lalbagh premises.
